Focus Faraway Privacy Policy

Focus Faraway respects your privacy. This page explains how the app handles focus records, virtual journeys, routes, story generation, purchases, and support data.
Focus Faraway does not require an account. Focus records, route progress, travel journals, Focus Lock choices, and most settings are stored on your device. Data is processed only when needed for AI travel stories, maps, weather, subscriptions, or support you request.

1. Data Stored On Device

The app stores focus sessions, focus project totals, route progress, travel mode, lodging mode, story tone, travel journals, lightweight Widget state, and preferences locally so it can restore journeys, show statistics, continue focus sessions, and save journals.

2. AI Travel Stories

When you end a focus session and request a travel story, the app sends structured journey facts to the Focus Faraway backend. These may include start and end points, route distance, time, weather, nearby places, travel mode, and a short memory summary. The backend proxies the model request and returns a story. The app does not store DeepSeek or other model credentials.

3. Maps, Location, and Weather

You may enter a route start manually or grant location permission to use the current location as a start point. Location is used only for route planning that you request. The app uses Apple MapKit for place search, route preview, and map display, and may use weather data near the route.

4. Focus Lock Data

If you use Focus Lock, Family Controls selection tokens are stored only on your device to temporarily shield selected apps, categories, or websites during focus sessions. Focus Faraway does not upload the names of selected apps, categories, or websites.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

Membership subscriptions are handled by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. We do not receive full payment card numbers. Purchase status is used to unlock unlimited AI stories, priority generation, and related membership benefits. Subscriptions renew automatically under App Store rules unless cancelled before the renewal date.

6. Support and Feedback

If you contact support by email or through the website, we process the information you choose to send, such as email address, issue description, device details, and system version.

7. Third-Party Sharing

Focus Faraway does not sell personal information and does not use third-party ad networks. Necessary processing is limited to Apple system services, the App Store, maps, weather, crash diagnostics, AI story generation, and support you request.
