Privacy Policy
PeakSight respects your privacy. This policy explains how the app uses on-device sensors, network requests, ads, and purchase information.
1. Information We Use
To provide its core features, PeakSight may read the following device information:
- Location, compass heading, and barometric pressure:Used to show altitude, direction, and nearby peak information.
- Camera frames:Used only in the AR Skyline view for a live overlay. Camera frames stay on your device and are not recorded or uploaded.
- Downloaded peak data:Nearby peak data may be saved locally so you can view it offline.
2. Advertising
The free version may display Google AdMob banner ads. AdMob may process a non-personal device advertising identifier and follows Google's advertising privacy policies. You can limit tracking or adjust ad-related settings in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security.
3. Network Requests
When you tap "Download nearby data," PeakSight sends one HTTPS request to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API containing your current coordinates and selected radius. That request is handled by the Overpass service operator.
4. In-App Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple StoreKit. PeakSight receives only whether your purchase entitlement is valid and does not receive your payment information.
5. Data Storage and Deletion
PeakSight does not require account registration. You can delete downloaded peak data with "Clear downloaded data" in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all local data.
6. Children's Privacy
PeakSight is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Policy Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the Last Updated date on this page and, when appropriate, explain the change in the app.
