Privacy policy
Updated October 20, 2026. This policy applies to WakeMao on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Your tasks and sync
Tasks, notes, anniversaries, habit check-ins, bill records and settings are stored on your device. When iCloud is available, supported data syncs through your private CloudKit database. The developer does not operate a separate account system or task-storage server.
Voice and parsing
Voice input requires microphone and speech-recognition permission. Recognition runs on device when supported; otherwise Apple speech services may process audio. If you enable DeepSeek with your own API key, the input being parsed and current-date context are sent to DeepSeek, not your entire task database. Your key is stored in the system Keychain. DeepSeek processing and fees are subject to its own terms.
Location and weather
When you enable weather and grant location permission, coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before being sent to Apple through WeatherKit for forecasts. Apple Maps services resolve the city name and time zone. The app caches approximate coordinates, the city and weather locally, without retaining a location history or sending task content to the weather service. When location permission is revoked, the app clears its weather cache. Apple states that WeatherKit location information is used only for forecasts, is not associated with personally identifiable information and is not tracked between requests. Exchange rates and external services
Bill conversion downloads public USD exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) and caches them locally. Requests do not include bill names, amounts or records. Online services receive connection information such as your IP address as part of normal network requests; their own privacy policies apply.
Voluntary support and payments
One-time support is optional and does not unlock features. Each purchase is a single payment with no automatic renewal, and you can choose to support again. Apple processes payments through the App Store; WakeMao does not receive payment-card details. The app reads Apple-verified product and transaction information to complete purchases. One-time support is consumable and cannot be restored.
Promotion and tracking
The app has no advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs. The developer’s app catalog is bundled. Opening a product connects to Apple’s store, and missing icons may be downloaded from Apple image services. External websites and the App Store have their own privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
You can delete content in the app. Some deletions are retained as deletion markers to support sync. Deleting the app removes local data but does not automatically clear iCloud data or Apple purchase records. Manage iCloud data through Apple’s iCloud storage controls. Exported or separately copied data must be deleted separately.

For help or privacy requests, contact wallyvay@gmail.com. Include your device, OS version and steps to reproduce the issue. Do not send API keys, passwords, payment-card details or private task contents. No login is required. Notification permission is used for due-date reminders.
